Estimate your earnings per 1,000 views, per 1 lakh and per million views for long-form videos and Shorts, in rupees or dollars. Honest ranges, official facts, and no promise of income.
There is no single rate. As a planning range, long-form videos with mostly Indian viewers may earn roughly ₹29 to ₹153 per 1,000 views, while US and Canadian audiences may earn $3 to $15. Shorts pay far less, roughly ₹5 to ₹29 per 1,000 views in India. Creators receive 55% of net long-form ad revenue and 45% of their Shorts pool share, and earn nothing from ads until the channel joins the YouTube Partner Program.

Per 1,000 views. Advertisers pay more to reach these audiences, so the same views can earn several times more.
Per 1,000 views in India, paid from a shared pool. Shorts are best used to bring viewers to long-form videos.

Use the last 28 to 90 days from YouTube Studio as your guide. Ranges are our planning estimates built from several published sources, not YouTube data.

Remember that taxes and any non-ad costs come out of this, and ad income varies month to month.
Estimates only. Actual earnings depend on ad demand, viewer location, video length, season and policy status. Apensia is independent and is not affiliated with YouTube or Google.
Planning ranges from the calculator’s presets for a general-topic channel, converted at about ₹95.5 to $1. Finance and tech channels sit towards the top of each range, entertainment towards the bottom.

Seven short chapters on how YouTube pays, why it varies and how to raise it honestly, with sources.
Advertisers pay for ads by CPM, the price per 1,000 ad views. YouTube keeps part of that, and for ads on long-form videos it pays creators 55% of net revenue. Your RPM is what you actually earn per 1,000 video views, after YouTube’s share and counting views that never showed an ad. That is why RPM is always lower than CPM, and why it is the number to plan with.
Shorts are different. YouTube pools Shorts ad revenue and pays creators 45% of the revenue allocated to them, based on their share of Shorts views. Shorts usually earn far less per view, so they work best as a door to long-form videos.
Payment comes through AdSense. YouTube says payments are issued between the 21st and the 26th of the month, once your balance has reached your account’s payment threshold. The threshold depends on your account currency; it is $100 for US dollar accounts.
Three things move earnings most. First, where your viewers live. Advertisers pay more to reach audiences in the US, Canada, the UK and Australia than in India, so the same 1 lakh views can pay several times more. Second, what the video is about. Finance, business and technology attract higher bids than entertainment, comedy or gaming. Third, how the video is built: YouTube allows mid-roll ad breaks on monetized videos of 8 minutes or longer, which adds ad slots a short video does not have.
Third-party estimates for the same audience can differ by a factor of three or more, which is why this page shows ranges. The chart uses our planning ranges, which sit inside the spread reported by upGrowth, VloggingPro and FluxNote. None of them is YouTube data, and your own YouTube Analytics will always be more accurate than any calculator.
A calculator estimates earnings per view, but a channel earns ad revenue only after it joins the YouTube Partner Program. Today that means 1,000 subscribers plus 4,000 public watch hours in 12 months, or 10 million public Shorts views in 90 days, along with 2-Step Verification, a linked AdSense account and no active strikes. From 1 February 2027, new applicants need 8,000 hours or 20 million Shorts views.
Many creators with plenty of views see no income because they have not been accepted, or because a policy issue such as reused or inauthentic content blocks them. If that is your situation, the number to work on is not RPM. Start with our guides on watch hours and subscribers, or a ₹2,999 channel audit.
The growth loop matters more than any single trick. Honest packaging earns the right click, retention earns watch time, and watch time earns reach for the next video. Over months, a channel that improves this loop usually gains more income from extra views than from any change in RPM.
Indian audiences are large, and many creators earn well from them by volume. Overseas viewers pay much more per view, but reaching them usually means English content, subtitles or dubbed audio, and topics that travel. YouTube’s CEO said at WAVES in Mumbai in 2025 that content produced in India racked up 45 billion hours of watch time from viewers outside the country in the previous year, so the demand exists.
Do not abandon the audience that already likes your work. Test one series aimed at overseas viewers, add accurate captions, and watch the audience-location report in YouTube Studio for a few months. Our Global Pro Plan is built for creators who want a global audience; the packages below show what is included.
Questions like “how much does YouTube pay per 1,000 views” are exactly what people type, speak and see answered in AI Overviews, featured snippets and People Also Ask. Google’s documentation says there are no additional requirements to appear in AI Overviews or AI Mode, and no special files or markup are needed. AEO, or answer engine optimisation, therefore comes down to being clear and accurate.
That is how this page is written. Each question gets a direct answer in the first sentence, followed by the range, the reason and the source. The numbers are labelled as estimates. The FAQ below uses the same wording as its structured data, and the quick answers are short enough to be read aloud by a voice assistant.
The same approach works for your own channel: answer the question early in the video, add accurate captions, and give viewers a clear next step.
Sabse pehle samjhein ki paise YouTube Partner Program mein join hone ke baad hi aate hain.
A calculator gives a range. A ₹2,999 audit tells you what is stopping your channel from earning, and what to change. Published prices, no “DM for price”.

There is no single rate. For Indian audiences it is roughly 28 to 152 rupees per 1,000 long-form views, and for US audiences roughly 3 to 15 dollars. Shorts pay far less.
Creators get 55 percent of net long-form ad revenue and 45 percent of their share of the Shorts pool, paid through AdSense between the 21st and 26th of the month once the payment threshold is reached.
Koi fixed rate nahi hai. India ke viewers par long video ke 1,000 views ke roughly 28 se 152 rupaye ho sakte hain. US ke viewers par zyada hota hai. Shorts ke paise bahut kam hote hain.
AdSense ke through har mahine 21 se 26 tareekh ke beech, jab aapka balance payment threshold tak pahunch jaye. Pehle aapko YouTube Partner Program mein join hona zaroori hai.
There is no single rate. As a planning range, long-form videos with mostly Indian viewers may earn roughly ₹29 to ₹153 per 1,000 views, and US and Canadian audiences $3 to $15. Topic, video length, season and ad demand move the figure. Use the calculator for your own audience and check YouTube Analytics for real numbers.
As a planning range, roughly ₹28,650 to ₹1,52,800 for 10 lakh (1 million) long-form views with mostly Indian viewers, before tax. Finance and tech channels sit towards the top, entertainment towards the bottom. Shorts pay far less: roughly ₹4,775 to ₹28,650 per million Shorts views.
Roughly ₹2,865 to ₹15,280 for 1 lakh long-form views with mostly Indian viewers, and $300 to $1,500 with mostly US and Canadian viewers. These are estimates for channels already in the Partner Program.
Per single view the amount is tiny and varies a lot. Divide the per-1,000 range by 1,000: for Indian long-form audiences that is roughly ₹0 to ₹0 a view. Only views where an ad is shown generate revenue, which is why RPM is usually quoted per 1,000 views.
Much less than long-form. Shorts ad revenue is pooled and creators receive 45% of the revenue allocated to them based on their share of views. As a planning range, roughly ₹5 to ₹29 per 1,000 Shorts views in India. Shorts are best used to bring viewers to long-form videos.
No. Subscribers do not generate income by themselves. Ad revenue comes from views where ads are shown. Subscribers matter because they help you qualify for the Partner Program and tend to watch more of your videos.
CPM is what advertisers pay per 1,000 ad views. RPM is what you earn per 1,000 video views after YouTube’s share, including views that showed no ad. RPM is always lower than CPM, so it is the figure to plan with.
Common reasons are an audience in lower-paying countries, entertainment or gaming topics, short videos with no mid-roll slots, many Shorts views, limited ads from policy issues, and quiet seasons for advertisers. Check the audience-location and revenue reports in YouTube Studio to see which applies.
Through AdSense. YouTube says payments are issued between the 21st and the 26th of the month, once your balance has reached the payment threshold for your account’s currency, which is $100 for US dollar accounts. Earnings below the threshold carry forward.
No ad revenue. You need to join the YouTube Partner Program first: 1,000 subscribers plus 4,000 public watch hours in 12 months, or 10 million Shorts views in 90 days, plus 2-Step Verification and a linked AdSense account. New applicants need 8,000 hours or 20 million Shorts views from 1 February 2027.
It is a planning tool, not a forecast. YouTube publishes no RPM by country or topic, so the ranges come from our presets, which sit inside the spread of several third-party sources. Your YouTube Analytics always shows the real figure.
It depends on your audience, topic and Shorts mix. Use the “How many views for the income you want?” calculator above. For many Indian-audience channels it takes a very large number of monthly views, which is why creators also add memberships, brand deals and products.
No. Purchased or artificial engagement breaks YouTube’s policies and can lead to lost monetization or a terminated channel. Apensia works organically only, and never asks for your password.
Overseas audiences pay more per view, but reaching them usually needs English content, captions or dubbed audio and topics that travel. Test one series, watch the audience-location report for a few months, and keep the audience that already likes your work.
An agency can find what is blocking your channel, fix policy and set-up issues, and improve titles, thumbnails and retention. It cannot approve monetization or guarantee income. Apensia’s starting point is a ₹2,999 channel audit; see the packages.
