What YouTube promotion costs — and what it buys

Ad rates, placement pricing, and the difference between promotion that grows a channel and promotion that moves a number and leaves nothing behind.

The short answer

YouTube Ads cost ₹0.30 to ₹3 per view in India, depending on targeting and format — so 100,000 views is roughly ₹30,000 to ₹3,00,000 in ad spend, plus management. Placement promotion on a publisher network starts around ₹100 per video. Anything selling views at a fraction of that is bot traffic, which counts for nothing and can harm the channel.

Promotion is the most confused part of YouTube pricing, because three very different things get sold under the same word. Knowing which one you are buying is most of the decision.

Three things called “promotion”

What each type of YouTube promotion costs and what it leaves behind
TypeCost Real viewersLasts
YouTube Ads ₹0.30–3 per view Yes, targeted While you pay
Publisher placement From ₹100 per video Yes, smaller audience The page keeps being found
View-selling panels ₹50 per 1,000 No — bots Removed when detected

The third row is why this page exists. It is the cheapest and the most advertised, and it is the only one that can actively damage a channel.

When promotion is the wrong spend

If average view duration is low, do not promote yet. Paid views on a video people leave after twenty seconds teach YouTube that the video is weak — and that signal makes organic reach harder afterwards.

Promotion amplifies what is already there. It does not improve it. Spending on reach before the content holds attention is the most expensive mistake on this page, and the one nobody selling promotion will mention.

Check it yourself: YouTube Studio → Analytics → Engagement → average view duration. Under about 30% of the video length on long-form, fix retention first. We will tell you that rather than take the campaign.

And on paid views versus monetisation. Views from YouTube Ads do not count toward the 4,000 watch hour threshold. If reaching the Partner Program is the goal, promotion is not the route — the monetisation guide covers what is. This is the single most common misunderstanding we hear, and it costs people months.

Common questions

How much does YouTube promotion cost in India?

YouTube Ads cost roughly ₹0.30 to ₹3 per view depending on format, targeting and competition in your niche. Management on top is typically ₹15,000 to ₹40,000 a month. Video placement on a publisher network starts around ₹100 per video. Anything offering views far below those rates is bot traffic.

Do paid views count toward monetisation?

No. Views from YouTube Ads do not count toward the 4,000 watch hour threshold for the Partner Program, and views from view-selling panels are invalid entirely. Promotion and monetisation eligibility are separate things, and conflating them is the most common misunderstanding we hear.

What is the difference between YouTube Ads and a promotion panel?

YouTube Ads are Google advertising — real viewers, targeted, and you pay per view. A publisher placement puts your video on a page with its own audience and its own search visibility, so it keeps being found afterwards. Ads reach more people faster; placement leaves something behind. Both are legitimate; view-selling panels are neither.

Is buying YouTube views safe?

No. Purchased views are removed when detected, they do not count toward monetisation, and repeated use can result in the channel being penalised. The service is real in that the number goes up — it just does not do the thing you are buying it for.

How much should I spend on YouTube promotion?

Enough to test properly, which is usually ₹15,000 to ₹25,000 across two or three weeks. Spending less than that produces data too thin to learn from. If the content is not holding attention yet, spending anything is premature — fix the retention first.

When is YouTube promotion not worth it?

When average view duration is low. Paid views on a video people leave after twenty seconds teaches YouTube that the video is weak, which makes organic reach harder afterwards. Promotion amplifies what is there; it does not improve it.

Where to go next

If the goal is reaching monetisation rather than views, the YPP pricing guide covers that — and paid promotion does not count toward the threshold. For being found in search without paying per view, YouTube SEO is the other route. Our video placement panel is on Aurzon.
