How much does a website cost in India?

By Kuldeep Chandel, Apensia MediaPublished 8 November 2026Last reviewed 8 November 20263 min read

Short answer

At Apensia a starter website (up to five pages) is from ₹25,000 (about $299), a growth website with a CMS is from ₹60,000, an online store is from ₹1,20,000 (about $1,439), and corporate software such as a CMS, LMS or CRM is scoped and quoted. Prices exclude GST. You get the scope and the final amount in writing before you pay anything. Other agencies price differently, so the goal of this guide is to show you what drives the number.

What do Apensia’s starting prices cover?

These are the prices on our international rate card and our homepage, in rupees and US dollars. They are starting points, not a substitute for the written scope.

  • Starter website, from ₹25,000 ($299). Up to five pages, mobile-responsive, basic on-page SEO and schema. WordPress or custom code, and you own the code, domain and hosting.
  • Growth website, from ₹60,000. Up to 12 pages with a content management system, contact and lead forms, and technical SEO.
  • Online store, from ₹1,20,000 ($1,439). Product catalogue, payments and order management, with shipping, tax and inventory set up and your team trained.
  • Corporate software, scoped and quoted. A CMS, LMS, CRM, portal or integration is delivered in stages and priced after we understand the process. See CMS, LMS or CRM for a corporate.

Each package page explains the detail: website development, ecommerce development and software development.

Chart: Apensia starting prices by scope, a starter website from 25,000 rupees, a growth website from 60,000 rupees, an online store from 1.2 lakh rupees, and corporate software such as CMS, LMS and CRM scoped and quoted, excluding GST.

What makes a website quote go up or down?

Whoever is quoting, these are the factors that move the number:

  • Number and type of pages. Five clean pages cost less than a site with dozens of templates and landing pages.
  • Custom design or a ready template. A designed layout around your customers takes more time than adapting a template.
  • Selling online. A catalogue, checkout, payments, shipping and tax rules add real work.
  • Logins, bookings and integrations. Anything that stores user data or talks to another system is software, not just a website.
  • Content. Writing, photography and product data either come from you or get added to the quote.
  • SEO set up at build time. Structure, schema and speed are cheaper to do while the site is built than to retrofit.
  • What happens after launch. Hosting, domain renewals and maintenance are separate from the build, whoever builds it.

How do I compare quotes from different agencies?

A lower number is not a better deal if the terms are different. Ask each agency for the same things in writing:

  1. The exact pages and features included, and what counts as an extra.
  2. Who owns the code, domain and hosting once the site is live.
  3. Whether SEO setup is included, and what it covers.
  4. What you pay after launch, and whether there is a lock-in contract.
  5. When you pay, and what you have approved by then.

We keep a longer list, with our own answers, in eight questions to ask any agency, including us.

What are the warning signs in a website quote?

  • No price until after a sales call, with no written scope.
  • The domain or hosting registered in the agency’s name rather than yours.
  • A guaranteed ranking or a promised date for first-page results. Nobody honest can promise either.
  • A long lock-in on monthly work, with no report that shows enquiries.
  • “Custom” design that turns out to be a resold template.

What should I do next?

Tell us what the site has to do: take bookings, sell products, generate enquiries. We will say whether a ₹25,000 site is enough, or whether you need a store or a custom build, and send the price in writing within one working day. If a smaller fix is the better answer, we will say that too.
